Creusa can help your pet have a stress free move

Few events in life can be as stressful as moving house. When you have children and pets to contend with as well it can be a nightmare.

Creusa can’t help with your children but we can provide a calm environment for your dog and cat, or even bird or small animal such as a rabbit or guinea pig, over the hectic period of the house move.

We know that it can be difficult, but dogs and cats pick up when their owners are stressed, so try and stay calm. Packing everything at the last minute could well make your pet anxious. Get them used to seeing boxes and items moved around and take several days. But don’t forget about your pooch and remember to take them out for walks and feed them at their usual time.

While you’re packing up your house, consider sending your pets away. The flurry of activity, with the arrival of the removal men and strangers in the house,  could cause them to get worked up, or even panic and escape. Drop them off at Creusa either just for the day or for a few days until you get settled in.

If you are moving out of the area, driving with your pet to your new home will require extra stops along the way for toilet breaks and may add a few hours to your journey. You may need a few extras for the trip, like a seatbelt for your dog, toys and a no-spill water bowl.   If your pet gets car sick, feed them several hours before the drive and wait until after you arrive to feed them again.

When you arrive at your new home it's a whole new world for your pets with sights and sounds to discover. Unpack their belongings first and get them settled in with familiar objects such as their bed and toys. Introduce your dog to the area with walks on a lead allowing them to stop and sniff and get to know their new neighbourhood.
